John Rooney's love of carving, of the sea and coastline of the Roseland where he lives and his sense of humour, all combine to bring a whimsical quality to his work. Using driftwood gathered close to his home, the simple shapes of his sculptures and pictures are sometimes painted, sometimes left plain.
